Business Spotlight: La Glace

It’s always a good time for ice cream, but there’s something about the summertime that makes it taste so much sweeter. It feels like it’s getting hotter and hotter every day, so treating yourself to the cold treat is quite a delight. A new old-fashioned ice cream shop in Downtown Coral Gables has arrived just in time for our summertime cravings.

La Glace (rhymes with glass; it means ice cream in French) is a new ice cream shop located at 256 Giralda Avenue. With outdoor seating and to go service, La Glace is a convenient spot for sweet tooths and ice cream lovers. Aside from a regular cone or cup of interesting flavors like mango, almond pistachio, birthday cake, guava, and caramel apple pie, La Glace also serves up unique specialties you won’t find anywhere else.

Brioche ice cream sandwiches are a delicious spin on the regular cookie ice cream sandwich (although those are available too for traditionalists!). Vegan flavors and milkshakes make a large part of the menu, making La Glace the perfect place for those on a dairy-free diet. And Disney World fans will be happy to know that they no longer have to go to the happiest place on Earth to enjoy a Dole Whip. La Glace’s Dole Float is inspired by the Disney treat, serving vanilla or pineapple soft serve with pineapple juice. Of course, if all you want is a regular scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream, La Glace has got you covered there too!

If you’re spending most of your time at home these days, you can stock up on quarts of your favorite La Glace flavors, perfect for any at home ice cream party! We recommend you stop by the store at some point though to check out its cool design and colorful atmosphere.

La Glace is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays to Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. They are closed on Mondays.
