  • Gables Hispanic Festival

    In celebration of Hispanic Heritage month, the Gables Hispanic Cultural Foundation will host its second annual Gables Hispanic Cultural Festival on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. on Biltmore Way.

    Coral Gables residents, surrounding neighbors and the general public are invited to enjoy a free, fun-filled day of art, music, food and culture.

    In keeping with tradition, the festival will again pay homage to a great master painter from Latin America, the late Mario Carreño, whose masterpiece Mujer de Selva will serve as this year’s official festival poster.

    The festival will also pay official musical tribute to the late great Benny Moré, a Cuban music legend. The festival’s main stage is expected to host live musical interpretations of his famous songs throughout the day-long event.

    The festival will also host A Taste of Culture VIP event from 5-7 p.m. featuring local chefs showcasing traditional cuisine, as well as a wine tastings from award-winning vineyards from Latin America. This is a ticketed event and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to charities focused on autism research and education.

    From 7-10 p.m., festival guests will enjoy Latin rhythms and signature Bacardí cocktails in the Bacardí Latin Lounge, featuring DJs from Wepa.fm, the festival’s official internet radio station sponsor.
