Miracle Mile & Giralda Avenue
Monday, January 30, 2017 – Sunday, February 6, 2017
Block 300- Milling and concrete removal has taken place. The southernmost lane will remain closed
(similar to other blocks) after the milling takes place. Drainage excavation will commence 2/1/2017
Block 200 – Paver installation is in progress and will continue all the way east to the intersection of
Ponce and Miracle Mile.
Block 100 –Irrigation, all electrical work for the service point and irrigation east of the crosswalk is
inprogress. The bedding base is being prepared for the pavers and paver installation has started and
will continue west of the crosswalk . Some tree installations will also be taking place this week.
Block 000 –Demolition and excavation for new drainage and electrical system east of the midblock
crossing starts this week. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times on the south side of Miracle Mile from Le Jeune Road to Douglas Road.
GIRALDA AVENUE CONSTRUCTION – from January 30, 2017 to February 6, 2017
Installation of pavers will continue east until completion. The removal of a portion of the sidewalk at the
northeast corner of Giralda by the plaza has started . Bridalveil trees have been installed on the southeast
corner the street. The street is closed to vehicular traffic; however, pedestrian access to the businesses will be maintained at all times for the duration of construction. Water barriers ha ve been installed in order to separate the work zone and pedestrian traffic. Temporary crossings have been installed and will be relocated as construction continues. Temporary lighting on Giralda Avenue will be installed on February 1, 2017
The Miami -Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) has
embarked on a capital improvement project that will make necessary upgrades to
the water and sewer infrastructure. WASD is instal ling a new 16-inch Water Main along Miracle Mile
(on the north side of the median), from SW 37 to 42 Avenues. The upgrade will not affect the water or wastewater services in the area. All efforts will be made to minimize the effects of the construction activities to area residents, businesses and motorists. WASD will notif y businesses in advance of any
project-related activity that might impact access to storefronts.
Project Information / Schedule
Phase 2 of the project is currently underway (started Tuesday, January 17th with a projected completion
date of May 2017). The construction work will occur between 10:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m., Sunday to
Thursday only. The work will require phased roadway closures of both lanes on the north side of Miracle
Mile during the construction times at night. Lanes will reopen to traffic by 10:00 a.m. every morning.
The site will be cleared of construction equipment as the street reopens each morning. Block-by-block
construction work will begin on LeJeune Road, progressing toward Douglas Road. On-street parking will
be impacted by this project between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. For a list of municipal

10:00 p.m. restaurant customers on the closed block will be provided an alternative location for retrieving
their vehicles.

The City of Coral Gables has made parking vouchers for public parking garages available to merchants
for the use of their customers. The vouchers were provided to the Business Improvement District (BID)
for distribution to businesses being directly impacted by construction. Please call the BID at
305-569-0311 to pick up or ask for additional vouchers.
The valet station in the 300 block is located by the Season 52 Restaurant on the north side of the block.
All valet vehicles are being delivered to the alley behind Season’s 52 after 10 p.m.
In addition to the parking vouchers provided to merchants for nearby garages, Giralda’s Restaurant Row
is also offering free valet . In partnership with the City, Restaurant Row merchants on the 100 block of
Giralda Avenue will provide complimentary valet vouchers to their customers, at their discretion. Merchants requiring additional vouchers should contact the Parking Department at 305-460-5541. A valet
station is now operating at the northeast corner of Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Giralda Avenue
for lunch (11a.m. – 5p.m.) and dinner (6 p.m. – 12 a.m.) Monday to Saturday. There is another station on
the west side of Galiano Street between Giralda Avenue and Aragon Avenue operating for lunch (11a.m. – 4 p.m.) and dinner (6– 11p.m.) Monday to Saturday. The valet station will remain open until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Every Tuesday from 6 – 7:30p.m. The City of Coral Gables invites you to enjoy a live jazz concert by Troy Anderson on Tuesday evening in a beautiful outdoor setting.
