Miracle Mile & Giralda Avenue
Monday, October 31, 2016 – Sunday, November 6, 2016
The work being done this week is repetitive for the next few weeks in each block being worked on. Simultaneous roadway reconstruction work along Miracle Mile from Salzedo to Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Ponce de Leon to Galiano Street will continue this week along with work at Giralda Avenue. This work includes trench excavation, drainage work, irrigation pipe and tree installation.
Pedestrian access to the stores will be maintained at all times. New paths and crosswalks are temporarily being installed as construction progresses.
MIRACLE MILE CONSTRUCTION – from October 31, 2016 to November 6, 2016

Block 100 –Installation of main storm sewer pipe to continue this week.
Block 200 – Irrigation pipe installation and storm sewer drainage work. Storm sewer pipe installation including concrete pour around pipe. Concrete foundations for column lights.
One lane of traffic will remain open at all times on the south side of Miracle Mile from Le Jeune Road to Douglas Road.

This schedule may change due to inclement weather and/or any other unforeseen circumstances.
Construction will stop in the afternoon of Monday, October 31st in order to clean up for Halloween!
GIRALDA AVENUE CONSTRUCTION – 100 BLOCK – from October 31, 2016 to November 6, 2016
Structural soil excavation and installation at the west end of Giralda. This material will allow tree roots to grow through the material and stop where root barriers are installed to avoid protrusion into sidewalks. We anticipate starting installation of trees by the end of the week.
The street is now closed to vehicular traffic; however, pedestrian access to the businesses will be maintained at all times for the duration of construction. Water barriers have been installed in order to separate the work zone and pedestrian traffic. Temporary crossings have been installed and will be relocated as construction continues.

The City of Coral Gables has made parking vouchers available to merchants for the use of their customers. The vouchers were provided to the Business Improvement District (BID) for distribution. Please call the BID at 305-569-0311 to pick up your vouchers.
Giralda’s Restaurant Row Offering Free Valet. In partnership with the City, Restaurant Row merchants on the 100 block of Giralda Avenue will provide complimentary valet vouchers to their customers, at their discretion.
NEW HOURS! A valet station is now operating at the northeast corner of Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Giralda Avenue for lunch (11a.m. – 5p.m.) and dinner (6p.m. – 12a.m.) Monday to Saturday. There is another station on the west side of Galiano Street between Giralda Avenue and Aragon Avenue operating for lunch (11a.m. – 4p.m.) and dinner (6 – 11p.m.) Monday to Saturday. The valet station will remain open until midnight on Friday and Saturday. We will monitor valet traffic at this location for a few weeks.

Movies on the Mile held every third Thursday of the month starting November 17th from 7 – 9p.m.
Every third Thursday of the month, grab a blanket and head over to Miracle Mile for Movies on the Mile. The City of Coral Gables kicks off its Action & Adventure movie series with the original Back to the Future, starring Michael J. Fox. This monthly event takes place at The Plaza at 150 Miracle Mile, courtesy of the McBride Family. The green space opens at 6 p.m. for seating.
