Miracle Mile & Giralda Avenue
Monday, October 3, 2016 – Sunday, October 9, 2016
Thank you for attending the recent Streetscape Town Hall meetings and sharing your ideas and concerns. We heard them loud and clear and are making every effort to address each one of them.

The work being done this week is repetitive for the next few weeks in each block being worked on. Simultaneous roadway reconstruction work along Miracle Mile from Salzedo to Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Ponce de Leon to Galiano Street will continue this week along with work at Giralda Avenue. This work includes trench excavation, drainage work, irrigation pipe and tree installation.
Pedestrian access to the stores will be maintained at all times. New paths and crosswalks are temporarily being installed as constructions progresses.
MIRACLE MILE CONSTRUCTION – from October 3, 2016 to October 9, 2016
Block 100 – Small trench excavation will start for tree installation. Some of the trees being installed can be seen at block 200. The tree installation will start at the end of the week on the west end of the block.
Block 200 –Tree installation started last week! The trees can be seen at the west half-block. The tree installation will continue this week along with trench excavation for the irrigation system, irrigation pipe installation and storm sewer drainage work.
One lane of traffic will remain open at all times on the south side of Miracle Mile from Le Jeune Road to Douglas Road.
This schedule may change due to inclement weather and/or any other unforeseen circumstances.
GIRALDA AVENUE CONSTRUCTION – 100 BLOCK – from October 3, 2016 to October 9, 2016
The second and final phase of drainage installation started two weeks ago and will be done at the beginning of the week. Trench excavation will follow the following week for tree and irrigation installation.
The street is now closed to vehicular traffic; however, pedestrian access to the businesses will be maintained at all times for the duration of construction. Water barriers have been installed in order to separate the work zone and pedestrian traffic. Temporary crossings have been installed and will be relocated as construction continues.
Valet Service is available to your clients. A Valet Station is now operating at the northeast corner of Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Giralda Avenue for lunch (11:00 am – 5:00 p.m.) and dinner (6:00 pm – 12am) Monday to Saturday. There is another station is located on the west side of Galiano Street between Giralda Avenue and Aragon Avenue operating Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during lunch from 11:00 a. to 3 pm.

The City of Coral Gables has made parking vouchers available to merchants for the use of their customers. The vouchers were provided to the Business Improvement District (BID) for distribution. Please call the BID at 305-569-0311 to pick up your vouchers.

Grab your yoga mat and water bottle! The City of Coral Gables is happy to announce the launch of Wellness Wednesdays, a weekly fitness series offering free yoga, boot camp and zumba classes!
Hosted in partnership with Green Monkey, we invite you to join us for our first yoga class, Wednesday, October 5th at McBride Plaza, located at 150 Miracle Mile from 6-7pm.
