Streetscape Bulletin- September 19-21, 2016

Signage for Giralda – additional signage has been installed
Valet Signage – A valet sign with arrow pointing to the valet station has been placed in the median at the intersection of Ponce de Leon Blvd and Giralda Avenue.
Signage identifying the alleyways (Paseos) from the garages and parking lots will be installed shortly.
The City of Coral Gables will be providing Free Parking Garage Validation Vouchers to the businesses affected by the Streetscape Construction. Each business on Miracle Mile and Giralda Avenue will receive validation vouchers to provide FREE parking for their customers, at their discretion. The vouchers are being distributed through the Business Improvement District. Please send someone from your business to pick up vouchers at the BID office at 220 Miracle Mile, Ste. 234. The BID office is open from 9 am – 5 pm.
Simultaneous roadway reconstruction work along Miracle Mile from Ponce de Leon Boulevard to Galiano and Giralda Avenue from Ponce de Leon Boulevard to Galiano Street began two weeks ago and will extend eastbound up to half block of block 000 (Douglas Road). This work includes existing roadway demolition, trench excavation and drainage work. The drainage work encompasses installation of high performance storm sewer drainage pipe, installation of concrete and PVC structures in order to collect part of the storm and roof drain water runoff. Work on the first half (west side) of block 000 will start and continue for the rest of the week. This work will be repetitive for the next few weeks in each block being worked on. Pedestrian access to the stores will be maintained at all times.

MIRACLE MILE CONSTRUCTION – from September 19, 2016 to September 21, 2016 Block 000 – The work scheduled for last week was postponed on this block in order to minimize impact to businesses. Work on the west half block will start this week. This work will entail roadway demolition and asphalt removal from the existing lane for subsequent drainage installation.
Block 100 – Full block drainage work is completed! The work will continue for a few days at the beginning of the week backfilling the trench. Preparation for the irrigation system will start by the end of the following
Block 200 – Trenching for the irrigation system and the first row of trees has started (3 rows of trees total) from west to east. The trenching will continue this week towards the east. The trench
will be backfilled with engineered soil in short lifts in order to accommodate the irrigation system. This work will continue into the following week. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times on the south side of Miracle Mile from Le Jeune Road to Douglas Road.

GIRALDA AVENUE CONSTRUCTION – 100 BLOCK – from September 19, 2016 to September 21, 2016
The second and final phase of drainage installation started and will continue for the rest of the week. This work includes concrete work in order to align the drainage system. The street is now closed to vehicular traffic; however, pedestrian access to the businesses will be maintained at all times for the duration of construction. Valet Service is available to your clients. A Valet Station is located at the northeast corner of Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Giralda Avenue and another station is located on the west side of Galiano Street between Giralda
Avenue and Aragon Avenue on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during lunch from Noon and 4:00 p.m.
Dine Out! Join us for lunch, Wednesday, September 21st – Noon – 2:00 p.m.
Dine Out! Designed as a collaborative effort supported by the leadership of local companies, our contractor and civic organizations, the Dine Out! program supports our local restaurants directly affected by the Miracle Mile and Giralda Streetscape project by coming together as a business community and dining out! We are encouraging business leaders to also host their breakfast meetings and dinner appointments on Wednesday over lunch, move date-nights up to lunch time, switch their weekend plans and invite friends and family, colleagues and co-workers to the Dine Out! Program over lunch.
