Traffic Impact Bulletin July 9-17, 2016

7/08/16

The following construction schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances and/or weather conditions. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.
MIRACLE MILE
Root Pruning
The Phase 1 and 2 root pruning, root barrier and structural soil placement has been completed. We anticipate commencing on Phase 3 root pruning in about 1-2 weeks – mid July 2016.
Miracle Mile Roadway Reconstruction btw Salzedo Street and Ponce De Leon & Ponce De Leon and Galiano Street
The roadway reconstruction has begun. This will include the full closure of the eastbound lane (south side) of Miracle Mile from Le Jeune Road to Douglas Road. Roadway reconstruction and oak removals will be done at night (10pm to 7am) in order to minimize the impact to the vehicular traffic, as well as the impact to businesses. Eight double-side signs have been placed along Miracle Mile median advising all stakeholders that all businesses are open throughout the entire construction process and where parking garages are located. Additional pedestrian signs will be placed once the sidewalk demolition work begins.

Miracle Mile Electrical Work btw Salzedo Street and Ponce De Leon & Ponce De Leon and Galiano Street
The electrical subcontractor will begin the electrical conduit work while the road is closed. This will minimize the amount of work that the electrical subcontractor will need to complete when the sidewalk demolition begins.
Landscape Removals (Trees and Shrubs) – South Side Only
All trees and shrubs have been removed on the south side. The oak tree removals will begin the week of July 11th.
GIRALDA AVENUE
Miami-Dade County Water & Sewer Department
The Miami-Dade County Water & Sewer Department (MD-WASD) has completed the water main and water meter installation along Giralda Avenue. The final tie-in of the water main should be completed next week. MD-WASD is awaiting final approval from the Florida Department of Health to tie-in the water main. Giralda Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from Ponce to Galiano.
Landscape Removals (Trees and Shrubs)
All trees and shrubs have been removed on the Giralda Avenue.
OTHER PROJECTS IN THE AREA
The Miami-Dade County Water & Sewer Department is in the process of upgrading the water main and water meters along Galiano Avenue and Merrick Way. Giralda Avenue, Galiano Avenue and Merrick Street will be closed to vehicular traffic. Access to residential buildings will be accessible. This is a Miami-Dade County project. They will do direct notifications to properties that will have any direct impacts.
