Summer time meant a lot of great things to me as a kid; pool days, backyard fun, freedom from school and freedom from my uniform. It was the one time of year when I got to pick what I wore everyday, and as a kid who went through phases of purple cowboy boots, ruby red slippers and a purple velvet outfit, this was big deal for me.

If you have a stylish tot who’s been looking to shedding her uniform and showing her inner fashionista, you have to head over to the newest addition to the children’s boutique scene in Coral Gables: Yo-Yo Children’s Boutique.

Yo-Yo Children’s Boutique is right on Miracle Mile, it’s an absolutely adorable outpost for your little ones with big style. Think colorful occasion dresses made from top-quality materials for newborns to about size 12 kids (for boys and girls). Yo-Yo features most Spanish designers, synonymous with a lux and polished aesthetic for children that’s often times hard to find in the States. They also have some independent American designers.

Right now, they have a particularly cute selection of clothing like a children’s sunnies, flamingo t-shirts, nautical rompers, and matching light linen looks for kids of all ages. But wait, if you thought that all sounded insanely precious they also have mermaid tails. Yes, mermaid tails, because nothing says summer like pretending to be a mermaid in the pool on those long, hot days and now it can be just a bit more real.

This is a blog post featuring one of the new businesses in Downtown Coral Gables. Stay tuned for updates and posts featuring other venues.
