Style & Bites: Gables Brunchin’

Brunch is the best meal of the week. Sweet, savory, boozy, caffeinated, what could be better? If you’re in a bit of a brunch rut, we’re here to help.

Threefold Cafe has quickly become the see-and-be-seen Coral Gables brunch spot. With a killer, piled-high avocado toast and breakfast available all day, every day, it’s not hard to see why. The Aussie-inspired menu includes dishes like the Big Bad Aussie, a “monster sized dish” featuring fried eggs, house baked beans, hash browns, bacon slab, spinach, toast and house relish or the Morning Monkey, peanut butter and banana bread served with espresso butter and organic maple syrup. There’s a play place in the back of the restaurant for kids, so that parents can take a load off, enjoy their coffee and the little ones can make new friends.

Swine Southern Table & Bar is a pig-focused restaurant with a stand-out brunch menu – because, what’s a better way to start your day than with a big slab of bacon, or, even better, a BLT Benedict, a spin on the original served in a buttermilk biscuit with a soft poached egg, house-cured bacon, cherry tomato, frisee’ and hollandaise sauce. The only thing that could make it better is a nice and spicy Bloody Mary and they have those too!

The Local is a popular happy hour spot with delicious, gastro-pub fare for lunch and dinner, plus a cheese and charcuterie program that’s perfect for an after-work snack, but it’s their brunch that’s got everyone buzzing lately. The menu is a nice blend of classic favorites, egg dishes and familiar southern-influenced food with the highest quality ingredients – think: Chicken and Biscuits made with rosemary and cheddar drop biscuits and pimento cheese, or the Breakfast Mc’Disco, scrambled eggs with maple fennel sausage and bourbon syrup. You can pair those shared dishes with a salad, like the Caesar served with short rib vaca frita, anchovies and bacon Caesar dressing. Good thing you can find this menu right here, locally.

At Cibo Wine Bar they have deals and specials everyday, to keep things spicy and interesting, like Lobster Tuesdays, Cibo Sociale Thursday and Pizza + Peroni Mondays, but today, we’re talking abut the Italian Bubbles and Brunch on Sundays. For $35 per person you get to partake in a big, Italian-style family brunch served buffet style. This feast is an over-the-top all-you-can-eat affair including a cheese table, dessert table, hot foods, pizza and more with 50% off of bubbly.

Look out for an upcoming post highlighting even more bunch spots in the Gables!
