Five Date Spots In Coral Gables

Valentine’s Day may be over, but it’s the month of love and we’re going to celebrate all the way through February. This week, we’re looking at five date spots in Coral Gables. Here are five places to spend time with people you love, whether that’s a romantic interest, an old friend, a new BFF, a childhood amigo, longtime spouse or a family member:

Loui Friendly Food
“Good food, good life” is the motto at Loui Friendly Food, a new cafe right on Miracle Mile. This cozy space is the perfect place to meet up with an old pal and share a meal – the name even says it, “friendly food.” The lunch menu includes pita pockets, like the Chicken Pesto Pita with grilled chicken, caramelized onions, mushrooms and aguacate mousse, paninis, burgers, quesadillas and salads. Basically, all your lunch staples in one stylish setting. Dinner entrees sound equally as delicious and a bit more formal, the Squash Risotto with arborio rice, squash, cream cheese, thyme and parmesan and the Beet Pesto Pasta are standouts. There’s no better way to end a catch-up session than with a sweet treat, try the Strawberry Soup or go with the good, old fashioned brownie with vanilla ice cream.

Books & Books
Books & Books has been a community favorite forever. It’s partially because they have an amazing selection of books ranging from kids books to new releases and coffee table books and partially because it’s got one of the best ambiances in town. Split a bottle of wine, enjoy some live music, order dinner and then browse the shelves. If it’s a lazy Saturday date you’re looking for, Books & Books is the perfect place to park it for a few hours and indulge in some good conversation surrounded by books. What could be more lovely?

VIXI Gelateria
This gelato spot is more than a gelato spot. VIXI is a gelato spot with the best, creamiest, natural gelato you’ll ever try. The toasted almond flavor will keep coming back to you until you  go back for round two. Call up someone you care about an invite them to a game of Connect Four, a gelato and an espresso at VIXI.

Angelique Euro Café
If you’re planning a date with not one, not two but twenty friends to catch-up, you should consider booking Angelique Euro Cafe for a private event. Reserve the cafe or the private garden for a brunch or cocktail hour and have a bit of privacy for your event. Make it a date to remember and work together with the restaurant to prepare the perfect menu for your crowd’s taste.

If you’re a girl catching up with a gal pal, you must go by Emporium and treat yourselves to a little something special. There’s nothing like shopping with the advice of a confidant, so take a girlfriend you trust and try on some new duds for this weekend at this stylish boutique. From accessories to statement pieces, they have everything you need to give your wardrobe a little refresh and have fun while you’re at it.
