Le Petit Café is a bit like the Goldilocks of Coral Gables – let me explain. In my search for casual, character-filled and always delicious restaurants in the Downtown Gables area, I’ve come across loads that I love, but it’s not unusual for them to either be too expensive to add to my regular routine or a little too casual. A good place for a really quick bite is always handy, but I’m always looking more for somewhere that’s nice to sit down and chat with a friend or discuss a new business idea without a stuffy feel and at a reasonable price. I know it’s a bit particular, so I’ve been on this quest for the happy medium for a long time.

When I first visited Le Petit Café right on Miracle Mile, I knew I had found something not too hot, not too cold, not too hard and not too soft, but just right (full disclosure: I had to look up the story of the The Three Bears because I was in too deep on this metaphor when I remembered that I don’t remember the whole story).

Le Petit Café is an authentic little bit of Paris. They bring rock sugar with your lattes, they serve crepes and they top off a lovely French menu with a bit of true European ambiance. It’s a lovely spot where they serve breakfast and lunch everyday of the week. It makes for a delightful and cozy Sunday to take a walk in the Downtown area and stop into Le Petit for brunch.

Of course, a place that’s just right has service that’s just right too, and the service at Le Petit was like you were eating at an old friend’s home. Marie-Christine is just the right amount of chatty, just the right amount of attentive, and served us overwhelmingly delicious food! Consider the happy medium found.
