The end of Miami Spice season is eminent – don’t let it slip away! Miami Spice is a great way to give our local restaurants a shot to show off their best dishes and get a deal of a price on the pre-fixe menu while you’re at it. I’ve rounded up a couple of the standout dinner entrees that you should run to try before the end of the month, when Miami Spice is over and we have to wait another eleven months for it to start up again.

Bellmont Spanish Restaurant’s rib-eye steak is not a dish you want to miss – partly because of the theatrical plating. It comes served over a volcanic rock, but mostly because it’s a 100% natural raised local Seminole black certified angus beef.

Fiocchi, a purse-shaped pasta filled with pear and four cheeses, from Anacapri on Ponce is a sweet and decadent plate. Start off with the lightest of the appetizer options, the seared scallops, if you’re going to move onto that creamy and tasty pasta dish as your main – and you should!

For the health conscious eater, Seasons 52 is a great way to eat out and still be aware of your dietary needs. Go with their always fresh Cedar Plank Salmon and end the meal with one of their signature “mini indulgence” desserts.

Morton’s the Steakhouse offers a long Miami Spice list of options, with six appetizers to pick from and five entrées. That means there’s something for everyone. While you’ve probably had a steak before at Morton’s, you might not have tried tha Chicken Bianco with artichoke, capers and white wine.

We’ve covered pretty much all the protein basics here, but we left out the other white meat – pork. Get your pork fix on at Swine, the Gables’ resident pork experts are offering their smoked pork shoulder with tomato-peanut relish and a honey glaze.
