It’s that time of the year again: Miami Spice has arrived and foodies can rejoice! You’re favorite Coral Gables restaurants are offering Miami Spice menus once again.

If you’re unfamiliar with the two-month long Miami Spice program, you should know that it’s a much-celebrated season in Miami. Each year during the end of the summer (August and September), Miami restaurants offer special pre-fixe, three-course menus for lunch ($23) and dinner ($39) highlighting their best dishes and diverse menus.

Many of Coral Gables restaurants are participating in Miami Spice. If you’re a creature of habit, visiting the same local haunts over and over, or if you don’t make it out to dinner at some of the pricier places in the Gables, Miami Spice is a wonderful opportunity to titillate your taste-buds and visit one of the twenty-six (eighteen of which are in Downtown Coral Gables) participating spots.

I’ve gone ahead and picked out the three that I’m most excited to try out:

There’s nothing better than an ice-cold margarita with dinner in August. I’ll be pairing one with my Miami Spice meal at Talavera Cocina Mexicana. Plus, they have vegetarian options available for their main courses, which is always a nice additional perk, but it might be hard to resist the Mole Negro Lamb Chops.

For a low-key night out to catch up with the girls I’ll go with Angelique Euro Café where there’s something on the menu for all my girls to enjoy. Plus, the ambiance is adorable and quaint. Angelique is a great choice for a group Miami Spice meal because they have five options to choose from for appetizers and entrées and four desserts.

SUSHISAMBA is fusion Brazilian and Japanese food in a fun and chic environment – but usually, it comes with a pretty price tag. The funky blends of familiar food (think: Tuna Tiradito with granny smith apple, micro coriander, marinated ikura, rocoto dressing) are exciting and experimental – so what better way to experiment than with Miami Spice? The three courses gives you an opportunity to try something from all parts of the menu at just $39.
