Violetas Home Design is one of many temptingly beautiful storefronts on Miracle Mile. Inside are hundreds, maybe thousands of goodies that you’ll want to take home with you to brighten up your pad with a bit of luxurious glitz and glam. If you’re a sucker for gold, Hermes china, ultra-glam vases (I most certainly am), then this is a place for you to come, get lost and dream a little about a life where daily afternoon tea is served in Hermes teacups.

The names and labels carried at Violetas read as like a veritable who’s who of contemporary design and good taste. Jonthan Adler and Kelly Wearstler are at home next to coral colored garden stools and cheese knives made of natural wood bark. There’s a blend of international finds, jewelry and home goods all in a colorful, and Miami appropriate, palette.

If this is all starting to sound a little out of your budget, here’s a solution: check out the candle selection. There are dozens of candles to choose from with a variety of scents to match any occasion. Candles are a small indulgence that makes a huge difference in how a house feels and gives a really memorable first impression for any space. This more reasonably priced indulgence is a satisfying way to satisfy a shopping itch.  With the weather starting to change and holidays around the corner, now seems like as good a time as any to give your home a new smell.

Violetas is owned by a mother-daughter duo, both named Patricia (no wonder I like it in there…) who’ve put together a short list for you of scents they just can’t get enough of:

– Seda France ‘s Japanese Quince
– Nest’s Passion (proceeds benefit Breast Cancer Awareness- there’s still some time left in October!) and Bamboo
– Missoni Home’s Monerosa
– Voluspa’s Crane Flower
