Bricktop’s is changing our Coral Gables dining landscape for the better. Since the restaurant’s soft opening in June, folks have been investigating—and enjoying—the family-friendly eatery offering amazing lunch and dinner selections.

What’s on the menu? Lots of impressive options, even for vegetarians and gluten-free diners. Diners can enjoy fish tacos wrapped in corn tortillas, prime rib, oven-roasted organic chicken or at least four veggie plates served daily, but the house specialties include the slow-cooked, falling-off-the-bone babyback ribs; deviled eggs with sugar bacon; the Tokyo roll with coconut shrimp, mango and scallions; and—wait for it—hot, homemade donut bites with cinnamon-sugar and hot fudge, crème anglaise and raspberry dipping sauces.

Guests arriving during happy hour, Mondays through Fridays from 4-7 p.m., can indulge in one of the popular prickly pear margaritas and discounted sushi and appetizers. And soon diners will also get to partake in an exciting brunch menu, featuring some items currently available a la carte, like chicken and waffles and eggs Benedict.

Apparently variety is the secret to the success behind Bricktop’s, which is part of a chain that began in Naples, Fla. in 2006. Since then, the restaurants have opened in Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and Missouri, but the Coral Gables location is currently the only other one in the state (Palm Beach is getting one soon).

The firepit outside welcomes diners, even those seeking a scene up until midnight Thursdays through Saturdays. The red leather booths, amber lighting, comfy atmosphere and enticing scents from the wood-burning oven can make just about anyone want to stay a while.
