Gables Style: Laced Up
By Ginger Harris of Electric Blogarella
The spring 2013 runways were lovely with lace trends. As seen at Carolina Herrera, the dainty fabric got a modern update with a bold orange hue. Jason Wu, on the other hand, kept things classic with basic black. And Jill Stuart gave it a sexy twist with long dresses outfitted in nude overlays.
Love the feminine touch? Here’s how to wear the trend:
For a touch of lace, stop in at Hip.e Boutique for the Adriano Goldschmied Scarlett blouse. Pair the cream, peplum top with boyfriend jeans and gladiator-esque sandals to keep it edgy.

Another great way to wear the trend is by giving it a boho twist. The Bettinis Trapeze Crochet bikini’s mix of aqua ombre lace gives the dainty fabric an earthy feel. Pair it with a flowing gypsy skirt for an outing under the sun. Find this suit at Curves and Waves.
As seen on the catwalks of top designers, lace isn’t just relegated to white and cream shades. Pairing the trend with bold pops makes it so right for spring. The Leny A open-back dress at Isa Boutique is a staple you can wear well into the end of summer. Or, pair it in one of the hottest shades of the season, orange, with the Dolce Vita short romper from My Best Friend’s Closet.
Lace and eveningwear have always been a perfect pair. Give it a flirty twist with the soon-to-arrive Donna Mizani one shoulder cutout dress at Bloom. The black is a classic throwback, but the shape makes it va-va-va voom.
