When we began in 1997, Downtown Coral Gables was not a widely recognized brand, nor did a logo exist.  The BID and its advertising agency created the iconic palm tree logo, which today has made over 1.3 billion impressions through paid and earned media placements that the BID has facilitated.  Without the BID, all Downtown Coral Gables-specific marketing and promotions will cease to exist.

No other entity spends resources specifically and exclusively to promote our merchants and restaurants. The BID puts together many iconic events in the downtown,  all dedicated advertising & media, social media, the ShopCoralGables website and its related social media domains and, most importantly,  advocating throughout our City and County with one unified voice.

In our short history, dozens of Florida cities have approached us to learn how to replicate the BID model in their own downtowns. The competition has never been greater from other South Florida shopping & dining districts, and the BID leads the charge to remain relevant and competitive.
